During David’s time at WRT, he “set the bar” for the planning practice in promoting citizen participation, sustainability, and creating plans that would be implemented to address the unique needs of communities. He led by example how planners in the firm needed to work to create the highest quality planning processes and products.

Because of the nature of the (consulting) relationship it is difficult for me to consider a consultant as “one of us.” Lancaster County, Pennsylvania is a very unique and special place. It is much more spatially and culturally complex than most non-residents understand. David Rouse understands Lancaster County as well as anyone. I believe David cares as much about this place as we do. His assistance has been invaluable in our work to communicate the aspirations of our people. He is “one of us.”

David is an experienced and knowledgeable professional with a deep understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of sustainable city planning. His broad experience and training allows him to comfortably link diverse subjects such as landscape architecture, green infrastructure, environmental planning, economic development, social equity, and the fiscal implications of planning decisions. David’s vast experience and knowledge helped create a plan (Imagine Austin) that integrates these diverse subjects into one seamless document.
